Short Escapes: Beautiful Bath

Short Escapes: Beautiful Bath

What better way to avoid the post-Christmas slump than a trip to explore somewhere new? Bath has been on my list for a while now, so starting the new year with an adventure to this beautiful city was perfect.

It’s easy to fall in love with Bath as you wander the streets, everywhere you look there’s beautiful architecture. Visiting just after Christmas, the market had gone but the incredible tree was still up in front of the Abbey and so were most of the lights and decorations which made everything feel that bit more magical- I’d love to come back for a festive getaway. We had two nights to spend so definitely hit our step goals for the week packing in the sights, like the Circus and Royal Crescent, Pulteney Bridge and the River Avon, all between stops for hot chocolate and cake.

Even if tourist hot spots aren’t your thing, a trip to the Roman Baths is a must-do for heaps of history.

We also loved deer-spotting at Dryum Park on the way home, which had beautifully landscaped gardens and view points across the city. Admittedly, we only saw four deer and my head was turned by the ginger cat we found sitting in a bush!
